Lego project

My next 3d project is to create a Lego toy,
my idea is a customisable character that expands on Lego's current range.
I want to find a way to add clothing and accessories in an innovative, easy to use way.

some current Lego characters....

some examples that have special add on features...

Some Harry Potter Figures
Sherlock and Watson
These characters have some interesting weapons
The toy story characters seem to be sized differently to the traditional characters

These Star Wars characters are probably the most interesting i really like Chewbacca's hair and the removable Darth Vader helmet.

I have noticed that the modifications to the characters are mostly built into the character, the accessories that are removable or changeable are all pieces that fit in the hands, under the head and around the body or on the head.

This will be a good start for my customisable characters, but i would also like to try to come up with another way to add accessories to the Lego figure.

my idea for a customisable mini figure came from the game little big planet
it shares the concept of developing imagination through creative play,

in game you can build, decorate, play and publish you own levels

but I'm going to be concentration on this little fella here.. sackboy
this is in his default costume, but as you play the game you unlock new items to accessorise and dress it

these are some examples of the types of characters you can make

there is already sack boy merchandise on the market but nothing you can customise

keyrings

3" minifigures

ps3 controller holders

and plush sackboy

i want to create a sack boy inspired lego minifigure that can be customised with clothes and other accessories
thought to create this sort of thing on a lego figure could prove very difficult.
